Big Band Tartu met a lot of guest conductors and other big bands during all the years of activity, with whom we continued to communicate. So we know our sommon interests, wish to lissen and share eachothers music and ideas, like to meet and study something new. Thatfor we also started with a new event - Happy Big Band Weekend 17-19th of April 2015 in Tartu and Tallinn, Estonia.

Star of this weekend will be Mr. Antti Rissanen, who is activ as trombonist, conductor, teacer and composer - 4th person in Finland, who has doctor-degree in Jazz music. He will take with him also one of orchestras he's conducting - Finnish Junior All Star Big Band - band of best students of Finnish music schools. We met them both in Imatra Big Band Festival last summer.

From local forces will help us Big Band of Tallinn University of Technology, Eller Music School Big Band, Tartu Levimuusikaorkester and Tartu Sax Choir. Big Band Tartu as organizer has pleasure to work with Mr. Antti Rissanen himself and prepare a program of his music.
